Feb. 14th, 2026 05:22 pmi. welcome.... now kiss
[Blood. So much blood.
That's what Simon remembers last, before his eyes close and he wakes up somewhere else. An immense amount of blood and copper so strong that he could still taste it on his tongue. Smell it in his nose. But the fact that he could smell anything at all was... different. A miracle. And confusing all the same.
Had he been sent to Heaven? That place people talk about all the time? When Simon's eyes open he sees what looks like a paradise. Blue skies and an ocean near his feet. Palm trees jutting out of the ground as if they belong here. Like trophies. And without really thinking, the man finds himself standing and walking towards the nearest one. Not stopping until he's just in arms reach. His fingers carefully touch at the trunk as if scared he'll somehow break it, feeling the bark cautiously. It felt real. It looked real. And the longer he stood there, the more the copper scent faded and was replaced with something different. Something new. Salty and fresh and alive.
This was definitely Heaven. It had to be.
Except... then he's taken and placed somewhere else. Somewhere more futuristic. A place where a man in the form of a hologram tries to explain to him and any other newcomer what this place really was about. It doesn't make a lot of sense to Simon, hearing it all at once, and he finds himself a little frustrated at the mention of people needing his "help". The last time someone needed his "help", he.... well.
Let's just say it sucked. Really bad. And his "help" was less voluntary and more forced. Much like how this kind of feels, at first. Being brought to another world against his will in order to "help" them.
At least this place had fresh air, and what seemed to be a limitless supply of resources which is a stark contrast to the post-apocalyptic world Simon is from. And he was no longer a convict. Now, a free man.
He finds his way to the apartments easy enough, after the introductions and explanations are all over. He finds his clothes, gets changed, and then leaves to explore this place a little more. This is when he ends up getting stopped by a Namazu and is tasked with manning a kissing booth. Of course, his first reaction is to say "hell no" and walk away but... there's a part of him that's worried. Worried if he doesn't help with whatever this place asks of him, that he could easily end up a prisoner again. And then who knows what they'll make him do... it'd be much worse than kissing strangers, that's for sure. And it isn't like Simon is necessarily against kissing. He's no stranger to hookups, after all.
So. Here is this tall, rough looking man standing behind the booth with a slightly lost look to his expression. This was definitely a strange welcome, but he'll take it compared to everything he's dealt with back home. And it's hard to be that upset when there's so many trees and greenery everywhere, and people who look happy and healthy and aren't at war with one another.
It's a welcome strangeness, and he greets the first person who walks up to the booth with an awkward smile.]
No tongue, alright?
ii. don't sleep in the water
[Simon's never been to anything even remotely close to a hot spring, and so he was extremely curious when he heard about the ones in Sunwaning. He ventured over there, excited like a kid in a candy store to see how much nature and sunlight was pouring all over this world. It felt too much like a dream for him to believe that it's real, but every time he pinches himself it hurt so this couldn't be anything but reality. It was just so amazing to take in, after being born and raised on a space station with little resources to enjoy. The stars that were left in the sky didn't even burn all that bright, so he finds himself squinting a lot as his eyes adjust to how shining the sun was.
It's incredible.
And Sunwaning was particularly beautiful. He doesn't regret how it takes most of the day toget lost make it here, and he walks into the onsen with a smile. He takes some swim trunks as offered and gets in the hot water, and immediately he feels relaxed. Every muscle in his body had been so tense and sore, and so he really needed this right now. He closes his eyes for a moment....
....and doesn't notice when someone else enters, as he's. He's fallen asleep... maybe wake him before he drowns??]
iii. pizza???
[Hearing about the "Valentine's day specials" going on at the restaurants all around, Simon decides to check one of them out to see what's being offered. He never really celebrated any holidays, beyond a birthday once in a blue moon when things weren't too hectic for one, so he's no idea what this "Valentine's" thing was even about. And equally so, he has no idea what most of the food offerings were. He didn't have a lot of food back home besides scarce resources found on space stations so he's a little overwhelmed when he walks into the first restaurant near him, a pizza parlour, and is blasted with all of the smells and dishes presented to him on a menu board.
He lingers in the entrance until someone else walks in, and now that he's in their way he decides to pose them a question so he can actually get to ordering something to eat.]
Hey, uh... what the hell's a "pizza"?
[He pronounces it as if it's a completely alien word to him.]
wildcard.
[If you want a different prompt, you can dm me to ask or just write up one yourself!! Simon is from a very new movie, so I'll be marking everything that has deep spoilers appropriately and using censor bars to hide any critical information! And on this topic, if you're alright with said spoilers please comment to this page! I'll avoid writing spoilers with anyone who isn't on this list, and I figured an opt-in post would be smarter than an opt-out!]
